Capital Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota, has been serving electricity to its consumer-owners in Burleigh and southern Sheridan counties since 1948. We take pride in being progressive yet friendly, service-oriented yet energy conscious.
Capital Electric serves more than 14,200 member-owners, providing electrical service to more than 16,600 meters. We own more than 2,710 miles of distribution and transmission line to serve our consumers. Approximately 36% of those lines are buried cable.
As a cooperative, we are owned and governed by the members we serve. Our directors on the board are elected by the membership, so they have a vested interest in the operation of the cooperative.
