

Operation Roundup
In 2008 to-date, ten grant applicants were awarded a total of $11,000 from Operation Roundup Funds. Almost 6,000 electric customers of Capital Electric Cooperative participate in Operation Roundup, generating almost $3,000 a month in funds for the Trust. Since its inception in August 1997, over $300,000.00 – 30 million pennies - in Operation Roundup funds have been donated to various organizations and individuals in and around Burleigh and Sheridan counties.
Those receiving grants from the Charitable Trust during 2008 are:
- ND Association for the Disabled: To pay for the Escape to the Lake Extravaganza;
- Ruth Meiers Hospitality House: To help fund Joanne's Healthcare Center;
- MVFA/4H Youth Rodeo: To help help purchased a timed scoreboard;
- Community Action Program, Region VII: For Backpacks for Kids;
- The Banquet: To help pay for their weekly community dinner;
- Riverside Elementary: To purchase new playground equipment;
- Junior Achievement: To purchase classroom materials for elementary students;
- Sheridan Co. Senior Citizens Center: To help remodel their building;
- Burleigh Co. Horse Judging Team: For judging clinics and participant costs;
- Youth Enrichment Specialties: To help fund their program for incarcerated teens.
