Katie Carpenter

The 2011 winner of a $1,000 scholarship from Capital Electric is Katie Carpenter of Moffit. Katie, a senior at Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock High School, is the daughter of Capital Electric members David and Vicki Carpenter.

Katie plans to continue her education and pursue a career in the medical profession. "I plan on continuing to work hard and to be the best I can be in everything I do," she says.

In her spare time, Katie likes to volunteer in her local community. She also enjoys music and theatre, and has performed in choir, band and theatre for several years. According to Katie, "I think the most important quality a person needs to be successful in life is a good work ethic. Respect and kindness toward others are also very important."
