put together a team of peddlers in support of the Great American Bike Race. On April 12, the Medcenter One Rehabilitation Center hosted the 12th annual Great American Bike Race at the Century High School gym. This fund-raiser helps raise awareness and money for cerebral palsy and related disabilities. Cerebral palsy is a physical disability caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain usually occurring before, during or shortly after birth.

Stationary bikers on the “High Voltage” co-op team included Paul and Danna Fitterer, Wes and Danay Engbrecht, Dave and Kristen Reich, Julie Dolbec, Drew Pandolfo, Tammy Kear and Paul Davis.

On behalf of Capital Electric, the co-op team raised about $2,000 for the event.

“We’re proud to take part in this event because the money is used locally to assist families affected by disabilities—and many of those families live in the communities we serve,” says Wes Engbrecht, director of communications and public relations for Capital Electric.
