Jon Olds, a regional Geo-Rep for ECONAR, was the featured three-day guest in the Touchstone Energy booth. He talked to consumers about the ground-source heat pump, and how it can reduce their electric bills and increase the efficiency of their furnace by 300 to 400 percent.

Along with Olds, member service representatives from Capital Electric, Mor-Gran-Sou Electric and Basin Electric Power Cooperative educated consumers on energy efficiency, conservation and electric heat products including geothermal systems, plenum heaters, garage heaters and fireplaces.

Wes Engbrecht, director of communications and public relations, and Josh Schaffner, member services assistant, worked at the Touchstone Energy booth on behalf of Capital Electric. Schaffner says having Olds work the weekend was an asset to the co-ops because he was able to answer some tough questions and find out what the customer base is looking for in this region.

“The Home Show gave him a better understanding of co-op customers so ECONAR can improve their marketing program to better attract customers from this region,” Schaffner says.
