Electric knowledge aids legislative decisions

Wrangam is the board chairman for Capital Electric and a state legislator for District 8. His co-op service helps him make informed decisions at his legislative desk. |
Along with chairing the Capital Electric board of directors, Dwight serves as a state legislator for District 8. Even though North Dakota has a part-time Legislature, he stays quite active serving his constituents both during and between sessions.
Dwight says his service on the Capital Electric board of directors, and his connection to Basin Electric Power Cooperative through the electric cooperative network, help him make better-informed decisions from his legislative desk.
“My service gives me insight into all facets of the energy industry, and as we all know, this is an exciting time for North Dakota,” Dwight says.
It’s also an exciting time for the Wrangham family. Dwight and his wife, Linda, are happy to announce another one of their sons is planning to move back “home” to North Dakota to take advantage of some of the state’s various opportunities.
“Up until a few years ago, three of our four sons lived out of state. Linda and I are very excited to be able to say that two of those three have moved back to North Dakota and the third one is making plans to move back to North Dakota.”
Passionate about many things including his family, electric cooperatives and the Legislature, Dwight has one more hobby—he collects and restores antique juke boxes.
“I am supposed to restore them and sell them, but like other boys and their toys, I mostly just restore them and keep them. My wife is a good sport about it,” he says with a laugh.
