Two new linemen in Wing

There are two new faces at Capital Electric's Wing outpost. After Mike Berg moved into the staking engineer position and Trent Stein left the co-op for the family farm in southeast North Dakota, experienced linemen were needed to fill the two vacant positions. Gordy Wiese, Capital's operations supervisor, interviewed several applicants and says, "Since we were looking to fill both positions in Wing, we had to be diligent in finding two solid linemen with experience." The co-op is pleased to introduce Rick Gieser and Braden Martin to the Capital Electric membership.

RICK GIESER

Mandan native Rick Gieser started his lineman career eight years ago with Rio Grande Electric Cooperative in Brackettville, Texas. After two years he moved to Limon, Colo., where he spent the next six years as a lineman for Mountain View Electric Association. When an opportunity to get back home presented itself, Rick packed up his family and headed north.

Rick, his wife Anne-Marie, and their six children are looking forward to living in a small town and becoming part of the community. Wing will be a great place to raise Cyril (6), Vincent (5), Seth (3), Catalina (2), Sam (1) and Angelina (2 months).

"It'll be great to be back at home, closer to family," says Rick. "We love to hunt, fish and camp, and there are plenty of places around here for us to enjoy all of those things."

Rick started his new job on May 2 and will be the senior member of the Wing outpost. He has already begun the process of getting familiar with the territory and the members we serve. We appreciate his experience and work ethic and look forward to working with him.

BRADEN MARTIN

Martin

Braden Martin didn't grow up far from the Wing area that he will be living and working in for the co-op. Braden was raised in Robinson and attended school in Steele. His parents still live in Steele, so moving closer to home to work for Capital Electric was a welcome opportunity. Braden was working for Govert Powerline Services in Williston and Stanley for the past two years. Govert is a power line construction company with headquarters in Reva, S.D., that does a lot of work in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana.

Braden graduated from the Bismarck State College lineworker program in May 2009 and started working shortly after graduation. He immediately began gaining experience on the construction side of the industry and now will put that experience to work for the co-op, keeping the system up and running in the Wing area. Braden started work on April 1 and has already been getting up to speed on his new job.
